DO NOW: Respond to the following in your Google Journal.

OBJECTIVE:
Students will read selections from Listen Up LAP QS-001, listen actively to oral instruction, and participate in classroom activities to gain an understanding about the importance of active listening. They will explain by writing in their Journal the importance of active listening.

  2. Open Kahoot.It (link) and keep window open. Leadership Kahoot #1: Active Listening
  3. Active listening games
  4. Discussion: Once More With Feeling (link).

Classwork:  Portfolio entry: “Active listening is when the listener is involved and absorbs the information that he/she will need to complete an action. How can you show your teacher or supervisor that you are an active listener? What are some things that an active listener does?”

Homework:  Read LAP QS-024 Simon says

August 26 & 27, 2015 Active Listening

Objective: Students will underrstand and be able to use the technology associated with the class.

  • Class Web Site
  • Google e-mail
  • Google form
  • QuizStar

Today:

(1) You will log into your Google mail and send a request (Robert_polete@dpsk12.net) your Class Portfolio using Google Docs including a dated entry and a linked item.

(2) View and explore class web resources.

(3) You will follow instructions to log into QuizStar (link) and take a practice quiz.

August 25, 2015 Leadership Ice Breaker

Objective: Students will participate in an “Ice Breaker” activity to get to know their classmates by writing a response to the Ice Breaker Questions and verbally sharing their responses with the class. Students will receive seat assignments and will read and discuss class expectations. Students will receive a written set of expectations to be reviewed by their parents/guardians, signed and returned by August 28, 2015.

Click on the Ice Breaker image to open a Google Form to collect your responses to a series of questions.  Be prepared to share and explain your responses with the class.  When we are finished we will know more about each other.
